Bighorn Medicine Wheel
An approximate portrayal of the Bighorn medicine wheel in Wyoming. Featuring 28 spokes from a ring shaped central cairn, with 6 cairns around the outer ring. The first to be termed "medicine wheel" by the european settlers who found it on top of medicine mountain in the Bighorn range. Believed to have alignments with the heliacal risings of Sirius, Rigel and Aldebaran, as well as alignments with the summer solstice sunrise and sunset. The 3rd. photo showing stellar alignments 1. Natural colored stones placed individually into a substrate of pulp and plaster and topped with a latex and white paint for a snowdrift effect. Mounted with screws in an aged and distressed cedar rough cut frame, behind glass with a frosted border. Comes with a mounting hanger and felt wall protectors (already attached).
